AUSTRALIAN TRIATHLON, ENDURANCE AND CYCLING EXPO TO LAUNCH IN 2015

Informa Australia has announced it will launch Australia’s first multisport exhibition in 2015, targeting triathletes, endurance athletes and multisports enthusiasts.

To be held over 4-5 July 2015 at the Sydney Showground, the inaugural Australian Triathlon, Endurance and Cycling (ATEC) Expo will engage with professional, recreational and junior athletes, giving them the opportunity to learn about the latest products and innovations designed to boost their competitive edge.

Inspired by the continual boom in endurance sport participation internationally – with Australia remaining one of the world’s key triathlon markets – Informa developed the ATEC Expo to meet the demand of the athletic community. The exhibition will feature seven zones where visitors can interact with suppliers and their peers, in addition to a comprehensive seminar program which will feature workshops from professional triathletes, cyclists, swimmers and coaches on a range of training, nutrition and lifestyle topics. 

Olympian and professional Triathlete Courtney Atkinson has been named as the official event Ambassador for the ATEC Expo. He is looking forward to sharing his training tips in the lead up to the Expo and is enthusiastic about the continued growth and momentum of the multisports industry.

“The number of people I now meet from all walks of life who have either participated in or planning on getting fit for a triathlon has boomed. Especially over the past 5 years. Initially triathlon was for those more die-hard fitness fanatics, now I see it as the modern endurance challenge for many,” said Atkinson.

Exhibition Director, Vanessa Iacomino, says Informa’s decision to launch the exhibition to this particular consumer market has come as a result of the growth 2 of triathlon in Australia.

“Our market research indicates that there is a need for a stand alone exhibition outside of a competitive event where consumers can try, test and buy the latest products and equipment free from the pressure of competing. We are delighted to have such positive support towards the launch from key associations, media partners and our event ambassador, Courtney Atkinson”.
