Triathlon Australia seek EOIs to establish the Sustainability Advisory Group as part of the sport’s commitment to sustainability and reducing the impact on the environment.
We’re fortunate to have amazing places to train, race and experience triathlon and multisport in Australia. Triathlon Australia recognises it has a role to play in ensuring a sustainable future for triathlon through reducing the impacts on the environment, and particularly the natural environments, in which we enjoy triathlon and multisport.
Issues such as climate change, sustainability and natural resource management are already putting pressure on the sport and recreation industry. So, as a first step to address these issues, Triathlon Australia will establish the Triathlon Australia Sustainability Advisory Group (TASAG).
The Sustainability Advisory Group will provide guidance on actions that could be taken to reduce the environmental footprint of triathlon and multisport within Australia, with representatives from State Territory Triathlon Associations, event organisers, sporting bodies and members.
Triathlon Australia is now calling for expressions of interest from members who may wish to be considered for membership of the TASAG and have interest and expertise across areas of sustainability in varying capacities (advisors, academics, policy, events).
This is an exciting initiative and Triathlon Australia is seeking a committed, diverse and well-informed group to form TASAG. The group will meet virtually, and be chaired by Triathlon Australia Director Alex Gosman who has had over 20 years experience in policy around climate change.
To express your interest please email firstname.lastname@example.org by Friday 14 October 2022 and provide:
- Your personal contact details and a brief CV if relevant
- Any additional information on your skills, knowledge and experience in sustainability
We are expecting broad interest in the TASAG and will assess expressions of interest against experience, availability and commitment.
