4. 2019 ITU Race Competition Rules stipulate that Triathlon Australia may nominate a maximum of 20 males and 20 females in each age group category of the 2019 International Triathlon Union Triathlon World Championships.

5. Athletes must notify Triathlon Australia of their Expression of Interest for selection by applying on-line on the Triathlon Australia website, www.triathlon.org.au. For the avoidance of doubt, this includes: Australian athletes residing overseas who wish to be considered for selection, Athletes who wish to be considered for discretionary selection and Athletes who have gained automatic selection. No late applications will be accepted for the 2019 Australian age group triathlon team under any circumstances. Applications for the 2019 Australian Age Group Sprint Distance Triathlon (DRAFT LEGAL) Team and the 2019 Australian Age Group Standard Distance Triathlon Team will close promptly at 12 Midday on Tuesday the 9th of April 2019.

Athletes will race selection races as your age at the 31st of December 2018. Results from each nominated selection event will be converted to age as at 31 December 2019 and selection points allocated in priority order per the official race finishing time. Athletes will not necessarily be awarded the same selection points as your race day finish in the selection event. Athletes selection points may differ than the race day finish due to athletes moving age group categories to meet the ITU age group eligibility.
