Australian Youth Triathlon Championships

The 2012 Australian Youth Triathlon Championships are for all junior athletes aged between 13-18 as of December 2012. Individual events will include the age groups 13-14yrs, 15-16yrs and 17-18yrs. Mixed team relay events will include the age groups 13-15yrs and 16-18yrs.

Event Format

• Draft Legal cycle for all age groups and events
• Mixed Teams Triathlon Relay – 2 females & 2 males per team
  - Each athletes does an ultra sprint triathlon of 200m swim/4km bike/1.2km run and then tags their team mate
  - Relay order is female, male, female, male

AYTC Endorsement Procedures for ALL Athletes
All athletes that enter the Australian Youth Triathlon Championships MUST have demonstrated practical knowledge and understanding of the skills in the Draft Legal Endorsement checklist. The following online application form must be completed for ALL triathletes who DO NOT hold a current ITU Junior Licence, OR are aged 13, 14 or 15 years of age in 2012 are are intending to compete. The online application must be completed by approved assessors, or athletes.

The top 3 placing in each age category/gender will receive championships medals/trophy and will be recognised in Triathlon Australia website and newsletter.
