National Development Camp

The National Development Camp (NDC) is a four day residential camp targeted at the best ITU Junior Triathletes from around Australia. The aim of the NDC is to complement and enhance the existing State Junior Development Camps being conducted by STTA Junior Development Programs. Moreover, the NDC will also act as the key camp to assist in identifying (and possibly selection of) potential athletes for the newly created State Talent Academy programs. The NDC will expose junior athletes to coaching/training & advanced skill sessions with TA High Performance Coaches and State Talent Coaches along with a series of lectures/seminars on sports performance and development pathways.

Eligibility Criteria

• Athletes must be eligible to compete in the 2012 Australian Junior Triathlon Series
• Age 16-19 as at 31/12/2012 (i.e. born in the years 1993, 1994, 1995 or 1996)
• Athletes must be a financial “ITU Junior” members of Triathlon Australia/STTA.
• Athletes must be in good standing with their respective STTA.
• Athletes must be working with a NCAS accreditated Triathlon Australia coach.

Coaching Development Opportunity – Junior Coaches
Triathlon Australia has a very limited number of spots for active Junior coaches who are looking for an opportunity to further their coaching knowledge, experience and coach networks within
Australia. This is a development opportunity for coaches to attend and be actively involved in camp. Successful applicants will be invited to attend the National Development Camp and have
active/hands on role at the camp working with Junior athletes while being mentored by HP and State Talent Coaches.
