TA Participation Activities
The core brand values articulated in the Triathlon Australia Strategic Plan are particularly relevant for our participation activities. We need to ensure that our sport supports our core brand values by providing participation opportunities which offer participants:
A healthy lifestyle • Enjoyment • A sense of belonging • A sense of achievement
The principal existing activities which encourage grassroots participation in the sport of triathlon in addition to the strong tradition of age group are:
Weet-Bix Kids Tryathlons
The Sanitarium Company have entered into a partnership with Triathlon Australia to conduct nine events specifically focussed on attracting children to participate and their families to come and support them.
Novice programs
Several clubs offer 4 to 8 week skills training courses for new or potential club members. Such programs are usually conducted with the support of the state and territory associations.
Coach education
Level 0 and Level 1 courses are currently conducted on a regular basis by state and territory associations. Some opportunities are offered to coaches for professional development. More >>
National Technical Program
Level 0 and Level 1 Technical Official courses are currently conducted by state and territory associations. Technical officials are provided with opportunities to gain experience under the observation of an accredited official. More >>
