Swimming Conduct
(Rule 2.3)
In an emergency, a competitor should raise an arm overhead and call for assistance. Once assistance is rendered beyond the provision of an object on which to rest, the competitor must withdraw from the event.

National High Performance Key Staff
The High Performance staffing structure is as follows:

National Performance Director (NPD) – Michael Flynn
To lead, manage and evaluate all elements of the national program by providing clear vision, strategy and planning for all system elements and partners. To coordinate the selection and management requirements of the triathlon national high performance program, including camps and competitions domestically and internationally.
AIS Triathlon Manager (ATM) – Shaun Stephens
To provide individual case management to AIS scholarship holders. To provide technical leadership of the triathlon national program through mentoring and support of coaches within the national program. To act as Head Coach and Manager of the daily training environments at national camps conducted in Australia or overseas.
SIS/SAS Head Coaches x 3 – Stephan Moss (QAS), Jamie Turner (NSWIS), VIS position is currently vacant
To provide direct hands-on coaching in an optimal daily training environment to SIS/SAS scholarship holders. To provide mentoring and support to NTA and SPC coaches and to assist in securing technical and sports science support services for NTA and SPCC athletes. To be actively involved in the national program through coaching and leadership at national camps and Centre of Excellence camps.
National Manager - Athlete Development (NMAD) – Craig Redman
To ensure that talented junior and sub-elite athletes are developed to their full potential. To create an environment which enables Junior and U23 athletes to win medals at ITU Junior and U23 World Championships. To provide leadership and direction for the National Development Program including oversight of the National Talent Academy and management of the National Talent Coaches.
National Manager - Coach Development (NMCD) – Wayne Goldsmith
To recruit, develop and retain Australian triathlon coaches who have the knowledge, skills and commitment to optimise the athletic potential, race performance and wellbeing of Australian triathletes. To establish and maintain a national coach development plan which provides clear direction, strategies, measurable program objectives, priorities and accountabilities and which is embraced by coaches and athletes.
National Talent Coach (NTC) x 4 – Keiran Barry, Chris Lang, Jan Rehula & Craig Walton
To coordinate and deliver all National Talent Academy (NTA) activities. To ensure that talented junior and sub-elite athletes from within the state are identified and provided with opportunities to reach their full potential. To ensure a steady flow of athletes who are prepared and eligible for a SIS / SAS or AIS scholarship.
The NTA is divided into four regions and are being driven and managed by appointed National Talent Coaches (NTC). The four regions and appointed NTC's are:
- NSW & ACT - Keiran Barry
- WA & SA - Chris Lang
- VIC & TAS - Jan Rehula
- QLD & NT - Craig Walton
State Performance Centre Coaches (SPCC) – positions currently vacant
To provide world class, hands-on coaching through the provision of excellent daily training environments to emerging talented athletes in a state regional or city centre. These coaches are the engine room of the athlete’s home coaching environment. They have minimal administrative requirements
