The Triathlon NSW Annual General Meeting was held on Wednesday 21st November 2018 via teleconference.
Running as per the agenda circulated, the President’s Report, Executive Director’s report and Financial Report were all delivered and accepted.
The 2017 / 2018 Annual Report is available to everyone online and we encourage you all to take some time to read the reports – CLICK HERE. It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the Triathlon NSW Board, staff and the incredible volunteers who are so important to the delivery of our club network.
Glenn Schwarzel (Triathlon NSW President) on behalf of the community thanked outgoing board member David Hunter (Orange Triathlon Club), who did not renominate for a board position, for his contribution since joining two years ago and also John Stroud (Board appointed Independent Director) for his work as Chair of the Finance and Audit Committee (whose term also ended) and wished them all the best.
Thanks is also extended to Michelle Cooper (Triathlon Australia President) for taking time from her busy schedule to provide an update from the national perspective.
We extend a warm welcome back to re-elected Triathlon NSW Board members Glenn Schwarzel (Macarthur Triathlon Club) and Lucy Burgmann (Balance and UTS Triathlon Club). And we welcome Tommy Morwood (Hills Triathlon Club) to the Triathlon NSW Board, after being successfully elected by the voting delegates.
Two life memberships nominations were received prior to the AGM and were unanimously supported by the Triathlon NSW Recognised Triathlon Club Voting delegates. We congratulate and welcome Steve Tudjman and Michellie Jones as the newest life members of Triathlon NSW.
When advised of her successful endorsement as Life Member of Triathlon NSW, Michellie said ‘It is very fitting that Tri NSW nominated me for a Life Membership not only did I do my first race at a sanctioned NSW event I spent a considerable amount of time in NSW training during my career.
Steve Tudjman was equally thrilled to have this honour bestowed upon him. He stated 'It is humbling to have been conferred with this honour and to be recognised alongside some of our best Triathletes and volunteers who have all contributed to make our sport unique and special. I want to acknowledge all the other wonderful volunteers (living and departed) who have given their time and energy to make a difference to our beloved sport - thank you for the part that each of you have played. To my fellow triathletes - continued to train and race hard and stay safe.
Michellie went on to thank everyone for the hindsight in bestowing her with Life Membership and Thanks Tri NSW for supporting her nomination.
Last but not least, thank you to those clubs who registered and dialled into the AGM and to all of our members for your ongoing efforts, passion and professionalism in supporting and growing our great sport in New South Wales.
The future looks strong for the sport of Triathlon in NSW!
