Triathlon In Schools
Triathlon Australia would like to offer your school the opportunity to be a part of triathlon. We provide a range of activities from assembly visits through to class activity sessions (appropriate for children aged 7-12 years). Our activities can be undertaken indoors or outdoors, require no additional equipment and are delivered by nationally accredited coaches.
WHAT WE OFFER
Assembly (all age groups):
In our 5-10 minute assembly visit, we will cover off on the following topics:
- What is triathlon?
- Promote the benefits of being active, water safety and being sun smart
- Provide information as to how kids can be involved in triathlon programs and events
- Conduct a ‘dry land’ triathlon for students by simulating each leg of the sport
Interactive Class Clinic:
The clinic (30-50 minutes) delivered in the school grounds will develop skills in swim, bike and run in a triathlon context. Delivered in a fun and skills based format the session can be adapted to meet your students’ needs and school’s facilities.
TRYstars in Schools:
Triathlon Australia in partnership with the Australian Sports Commission has developed a first touch participation program for primary school aged children called TRYstars in Schools as part of the nationwide Sporting School initiative.
TRYstars in Schools gives participants the opportunity to develop fundamental movement skills using a games-based sense approach. It provides a great introduction to the sport whilst building on fundamental movement skills and provides a launch pad to future involvement in triathlon.
