Triathlon Solomon Islands is a non-profit amateur sports organization based in one of the poorest countries in the world –a country that is one of Australia’s nearest neighbours.
Through sport we aim to provide a positive influence on the lives of the young people.
We aim to give focus, direction and motivation in a social setting where there can be few opportunities for people of any age.
We think of ourselves as a healthy alternative to alcohol, substance abuse and lives without direction.
Since 2005 we have held monthly events and regular training sessions in swimming, running and riding.
Our athletes range from beginners just learning to swim through to female and male athletes competing in international competitions.
Triathlon has given some of our athletes opportunities to travel and gain experiences in overseas and local competitions.
Very few Solomon Islanders can afford a bicycle, and in any case it is not possible to purchase a bicycle in Solomons, they are not sold.
We would also be grateful for any bicycle parts, or running shoes.
Please contact Greg Terrill, email@example.com, 0417 048 259, to arrange collection.
He can then organize transport to Solomons.
