Welcome juniors and parents! This section is just for you! It aims to answer all your questions about the sport of triathlon, and to introduce you to a GREAT sport!
Here you can find out about all the fun to be had by taking part in triathlons. You'll soon see why so many Canberra youngsters love doing triathlons, and how you can join in!
How can I start?
Participating to our events
The best way to get into triathlon is to participate to one of our events. TACT is organising an all series of event suitable for Juniors:
- From 7 to 13 years old:
Kids Trystars Series - From 13 years old:
Novice Series
It is not compulsory to be a member of Triathlon ACT or a member of a club to enter our events. For more details on how to enter our kids events, please click here.
Joining a club
Joining a club is the easiest way to start training with some qualified coaches. There are two clubs in the ACT that are providing Training programs suitable for Junior:
The Vikings Triathlon Clubs:
Situated in Tuggeranong, it is the only club who run a Kids Trystars program and a Novice program:
- Kids Trystars program: suitable for all the kids from 7 to 13.

The Bilbys:
Situated on the North side of Canberra, the Bilbys are running a Novice program:
- Bilbys Novice program: suitable for all the Junior from 13 year old.

Joining Triathlon ACT:
You don't have to be a member to enter our events or to join a club, however joining Triathlon ACT will give you lots of benefits.To see all the benefits and to join us please click here.
By joining a Novice program you will automatically become a Novice member, a Triathlon ACT member and a Triathlon Australia member. For more information about the Novice programs please click here.
