Triathlon NSW Club Champs race will now be a Run, Bike, Run

Unfortunately we have just received advice from Orange City Council and their Water Compliance Team that due to high levels of Blue Green Algae, Gosling Reserve has been deemed unfit for recreational activities. Our 2019 TNSW Club Championships Race Director Partner, Elite Energy, have worked through various options to ensure that the 2019 Club Championships event could include a swim, but no alternative option was viable.

We understand this will be disappointing to our members and those travelling to compete. We hope you understand that the safety and health of our athletes and members must always take priority so the event will continue in a ‘Run, Bike, Run’ format.  The new distances will be as follows:

Club Champs – 4km run | 30km Ride | 8km Run
Half Club Distance – 2km Run | 15km Ride | 4km Run
Junior Events – TBC

Triathlon NSW CEO, Adam Wicks, said -

‘We encourage everyone to come visit Orange in what will no doubt be a great event.
Triathlon NSW understands that this announcement will be met with disappointment amongst our members but we hope you understand that the water quality is out of everyone's control, and a function of the drought. We sympathise with those and the communities experiencing the effects of the drought.

The safety and health of athletes must always remain our top priority. We look forward to welcoming everyone along to what remains a unique and wonderful event on the calendar and a celebration of everything that’s great about our sport’.
