TWO WEEKS TILL ORANGE IS LIT UP BY TRIATHLON ACT AND TRIATHLON NSW’S BEST JUNIORS

Only two weeks to go until the Central West triathlon hub of Orange will again welcome the best Youth, Junior and U23 athletes to Gosling Creek for the annual Triathlon NSW / Triathlon ACT Super Sprint Weekend.

The two-day event, delivered by Orange Cycling & Triathlon Club (OCTC), is designed to be inclusive of all Junior Triathlon Australia members, with skills sessions, a non-drafting super sprint and a Splash & Dash event on the program alongside valuable draft legal racing opportunities for our talented Pathway Development athletes. It is the definition of ‘something for everyone’!

Saturday, November 27th will see the Mixed Relay Triathlon start the proceedings. This is a new and exciting format in triathlon that made its debut at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.  It will also be the event at which Triathlon NSW / Triathlon ACT will select the Palladium Property No 1. TNSW / TACT Mixed Team in Junior, Youth and U23.

In anticipation of this team selection, the selection and appeals policy has been endorsed by both the Triathlon NSW and Triathlon ACT Boards. Both documents are now available for athletes, coaches and parents: Triathlon NSW Development Pathway.

An anticipated 150 athletes will converge on Gosling Creek including a strong contingent from all Regional Academy of Sport triathlon partners and the newly formed Triathlon ACT Talent Academy (TACTTA), along with the Rest of State Talent Academy (ROSTA), TNSW / TACT U23 and Emerging talent Squad.

The event will afford a range non-timed events for all athletes ages 6 + and is FREE for all Triathlon Australia members, plus there is a FREE participation medal thanks to OCTC. However, the main event on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning.

This event is a double points round and Round 3 of the Billigence Pathway Championship Series to add another layer on top of this already popular event. Even more exciting is the lure of $1500 in prize money, thanks to our amazing sponsors. And we’ve heard rumours that professional athlete and commentator Nathan Breen will be back on the microphone once again building excitement and atmosphere!

We know for sure there will be some fast and fierce racing around the newly refurbished internal cycling track at Gosling Creek.

Our thanks go to OCTC, in particular Steven Martin and the wonderful volunteers from the local club for supporting and delivering such an awesome race weekend for our junior pathway athletes.
