“Criterium and road racing can help Members improve performance on the bike and help build confidence and competence in a pack.  A dual Membership is useful for Members wanting to develop bike handling skills in preparation for a draft legal race,” explained TNSW CEO Phil Dally.

Following the International Triathlon Union (ITU) announcement that the 2016 Age Group Sprint World Championships in Mexico will be draft legal, Triathlon Australia has adopted the 2015 ITU Competition Rules and included two Australian National Qualifying Race sprint distance draft legal races as part of the 10 race Series.

Whilst Age Groupers are not required to undergo Draft Legal Endorsement, they are required to assume personal responsibility for their own skill.

The bike handling skills of junior (16-19) and youth (13-15) athletes who wish to compete in national and/or state draft legal triathlons events must be assessed in order to obtain the required Draft Legal Endorsement.
