Triathlon is a unique and rewarding sport that enriches the sporting landscape. In-line with our strategic direction TNSW are working hard on ways to support Clubs and increase participation in triathlon throughout NSW.
A new and exciting initiative called the Community Sports Link Program will see Triathlon NSW partner with other sporting organisations with aligned values to:
- Raise public awareness of the positive effect that active participation in sport can play on an individual’s physical and mental health/wellbeing.
- Position Triathlon as the premier multigenerational and gender inclusive sport/physical activity in NSW.
- Strengthen the capability of Triathlon NSW (TNSW) clubs to engage with local communities.
- Ensure local communities have greater access to physical activity through TNSW clubs.
More details regarding the Community Sports Link Program are available here.
Partnerships such as those included in the Community Sports Link Program will grow and strengthen our sport.
Triathlon NSW recently announced to all members that Wests Tigers Rugby League Club have become our first Community Sports Link Partner. As passionate supporters of healthy living, community belonging and promoting respect through sport, our organisational values closely align.
Wests Tigers are committed to raising awareness of the positive effect that active participation in sport can play on an individual’s physical and mental health/wellbeing. They have a range of key programs targeted at social inclusion, health and wellbeing, mental health, community support, education, and mentoring and leadership including women and juniors. It is these shared values that are the key element of any of the Community Sports Link Program Partnerships.
We look forward to collaborating with Wests Tigers on initiatives that will strive to educate and inspire communities all around NSW to get up and get active.
This partnership will also allow Triathlon NSW to run Fan Engagement Zones at Wests Tigers games as a way of promoting Triathlon NSW Clubs and participation opportunities.
We are actively negotiating with numerous other sporting organisations around the State to enter into similar partnerships which would enable Triathlon NSW and Clubs to raise further awareness of our sport and the role that regular physical activity can have on an individual’s health.
We are committed to ensuring the integrity of our sport. All partner organisations will be closely assessed to ensure that our community values align.
As a result of this partnership Wests Tigers have offered Triathlon NSW members membership benefits which will include exclusive discounts and offers.
