Eight-year-old Samantha Wilson (Cronulla Tri Club) was all smiles when she received a brand new Trek KRX road bike valued at $1,300 on Saturday thanks to Park Bikes in Sydney Olympic Park.
The Cronulla Tri Club (CTC) competitor’s name was drawn out of more than 400 junior member entries, who either joined or renewed their Triathlon NSW memberships between the 1st June and 31st July.
Wilson first learned to ride with what was a loaner bike from her beloved CTC. But now she can happily — yet gratefully — return that bicycle for another worthy user, as she now has a shiny new bike of her very own.
The Wilson family believes “what goes around, comes around” and Wilson’s father, Troy, was quick to assure TNSW that her new bike will be used until she is too big and also gifted back to the club to be lent to another deserving junior member.
