Triathlon NSW and 100% Events give back to the Kurnell community following devastating storms

As one of the Triathlon community's favourite training and racing venues, Triathlon NSW and 100% Events were saddened to hear of the devastation caused to Kurnell and its residents by the severe storm last week.

In recognition of 25 years of support from the Kurnell community for the NSW Sprint Series and now The Triathlon Series, Triathlon NSW and 100% Events have made a joint donation to the Sutherland Shire Mayor’s Kurnell Disaster Appeal.

Sutherland Shire Council continue to work with emergency services and welfare organisations to clean up the area and restore the community to normal. Triathlon NSW support the request by the The Sutherland Shire Mayor that all cyclists refrain from entering the township of Kurnell for the next 2 weeks while the clean-up from the storm is still in full swing. This is primarily for YOUR SAFETY, as there are many trucks operating in the area.

You are welcome to ride up Captain Cook Drive, but please ensure that you do a U-turn at the new Lindum Road roundabout i.e. BEFORE you enter Kurnell itself.

Please pass this on to any other local cycle clubs or training groups that you know use the area.

To support the Sutherland Shire Mayor’s Kurnell Disaster Appeal, please call 13 72 58 or go to www.salvos.org.au/kurnell.
