In late June the New South Wales Office of Sport announced increased support for women's sport - awarding $650,000 to 24 sporting organisations in the Her Sport Her Way (HSHW) Grant Program. After two previously successful rounds of funding via the HSHW grant program, we're proud to confirm that Triathlon NSW has once again received funding for our Finish Lines Not Finish Times (FLNFT) and Inspire to Tri (I2T) programs.
The programs, designed to reduce barriers and promote inclusive experiences for women and girls will return in Season 2022/2023 with applications for Finish Lines Not Finish Times NOW OPEN.
With the theme Finish Lines Not Finish Times, the focus of the event is on participation in a non competitive environment.
Triathlon NSW are encouraging our clubs to deliver a series of women's specific events across the state - these events can include triathlons, duathlons, aquathlons, or female-only waves in existing club events.
We invite our affiliated clubs who do not conduct events, to work collaboratively with clubs who are successful in their application. Successful applicants will engage their local community with the goal of generating more participation, interest and driving new females to complete their first race.
Triathlon NSW extends their thanks to the New South Wales Office of Sport for the opportunity to conduct another round of women's specific events across the state.
