Individual State Championships Announced for season 2019/2020

Triathlon NSW will once again be conducting a series of Individual NSW State Championships events, which is the ideal place to etch your name in eternal glory as the NSW Individual Champion across a set distance. 

You must be a fully financial member of Triathlon Australia / NSW to qualify for these titles, so be sure to sort that out ASAP: click here.

State Championships Duathlon (5KM RUN, 20KM BIKE, 2.5KM RUN)
Elite Energy’s Berry Duathlon
Saturday 27th July 2019

The Berry Duathlon is the scene for the Duathlon Individual State Championships and entries are already on sale. 

Featuring two distances, the Super Sprint for those looking to get a taste of the Duathlon action, and a Sprint, which will be the race to do to win the State Championships.

Run and ride your way through the scenic streets of country Berry, which is only a quick two hours from Sydney and Canberra. This event is one not to miss! Make it a weekend getaway or a speedy day trip and enjoy everything the South Coast has to offer.

State Championships Aquathon (1KM SWIM, 5KM RUN)

Gunnamatta Park will be the venue for the newly resurrected Aquathon State Championship event. For those that have never been before, it’s a great venue to race being spectator friendly and free from traffic.

If you needed any other incentive to try this event out, it’s conducted as a fundraiser for the Heart Foundation, so you can feel like your registration fees are going to a good place.

It’s also a race on the Sydney Interclub Series (ICS), and a WQE Qualifying race, so there’s plenty of great reasons to make this an event not to be missed.

Standard Distance State Championships  (1.5KM SWIM, 37KM BIKE, 10KM RUN)
H-Event’s Newcastle City Triathlon Festival
Sunday 23rd February 2020

Only two hours’ drive north of Sydney on the F3 Freeway, you will find Newcastle, a modern city boasting a rich heritage and stunning coastline. Featuring six wonderful beaches all within 5km of the city centre, this is a great place for a weekend with the entire family.

H-Events deliver this wonderful event which is marketed as ‘A medium distance triathlon for serious triathletes or those who have trained for the event. This event has a cycle leg that climbs King Edward Park five times, which is less than previous years. The course is tough, but very exciting.

While the event also has an Enticer and Sprint distance, be sure to register into that Standard distance to put yours4elf in the running to win this Individual State Championships event.

Long Course State Championships (1.9KM SWIM, 90KM BIKE, 21.1KM RUN)
Elite Energy’s Big Husky

Fifteen years strong and not slowing down, Australia’s favourite long-course event is still The “Big Husky” Triathlon Festival. 2020 marks 15 years of Big Husky excitement!

Huskisson is a spectacular spot to race and holiday with great local cafes and restaurants, a range of accommodation from camping, cabins, motels, the famous Husky Pub through to beachfront homes.

Elite Energy have redefined the term ‘something for everyone’ at this event, and it’s a great weekend away for everyone, including the kids. It features ocean swims, fun runs and triathlons of all distances.

But the Ultimate event will be the Triathlon NSW Individual Long Course State Championship event.

Now in its 29th year, Australia’s longest-running sprint series is back again.

Swim in spectacular Botany Bay, ride through the Kamay National Park and run this amazing piece of Sydney parkland. Get your entries in and come and race with us at Sydney’s iconic southern location. 

Offering both a Super Sprint and Sprint Event, this iconic event is wonderful because it’s one of the unique opportunities to race without having to leave Sydney!
