Introducing the TriActive Pilot Program

Triathlon NSW, in conjunction with Sydney Triathlon Group (STG) is excited to be piloting a 'TriActive' program commencing on Tuesday the 6th of March, 2018.

About TriActive

Originally created by Triathlon Victoria, with funding received through VicHealth, it's goal is to offer individuals who have never done a Triathlon before, a social, nurturing and supportive entry into the sport, with the eventual goal of completing a short Triathlon, and transitioning into a full member of a Club.

To remove the barrier of owing a bike, the majority of cycle fitness will occur in a Spin Studio with participants only required to obtain a bike (borrow from a friend or family) for only two occasions.

The program also features the option of an open water swim session to ensure the participant gains confidence in the ocean and also a bike / transition session.

All participants will complete the program with the eventual goal achieving Triathlon glory by completing their very first race, Kurnell Race 2, with the support of quality coaches and surrounded by their new club mates!

Who can take part?

TriActive has been developed for adults who would like to be a bit more active and take on the new challenge of triathlon, but don't really know how to get started.

Triathlon is a sport that anyone can take part in and the aim of TRIactive is to encourage you to participate in a safe, friendly and inclusive environment with like-minded people in a twice-weekly exercise programme designed to help you achieve the goal of completing your first mini triathlon consisting of a 300 metre swim, an 10 km bike ride and a 2 km run.

Why TriActive?

Having been conducted down in our Mexican state a number of times, and receiving excellent feedback, the goal of Triathlon NSW is to take the data from this pilot program and work alongside all our Affiliated Clubs across NSW to encourage them to run their own TriActive programs.

TriActive is a nationally accredited program which is hoped will create soft entry points for new members and a new source of income for our clubs to ensure sustainability and strength for many years to come.
