We're looking for our next Member Engagement & Communications Coordinator!

Location:  Triathlon NSW / Triathlon ACT office or remote (depending on candidate)

Reporting to:  CEO Triathlon NSW (TNSW) and CEO Triathlon ACT (TACT)

Status: Full Time Fixed Contract

Position Location: Either Sydney or Canberra (depending on candidate)

ABOUT US

Triathlon NSW (TNSW) and Triathlon ACT (TACT) are the official bodies responsible for the management and delivery of triathlon, duathlon, aquathlon and multisport in NSW and ACT. TNSW has approximately 6,000 members across 60 clubs.  TACT has approximately 800 members across 10 clubs.

Both organisations are aligned under the Triathlon Australia Strategic Plan with a shared purpose to ‘Enable more people to enjoy more triathlon and multisport experiences, in more places.

The Member Engagement and Communications Coordinator will be a split role (3 days focussed on NSW, 2 days focussed on ACT), with a direct focus on TNSW / TACT’s engagement with clubs, members and the broader community through digital strategy. The Member Engagement and Communications Coordinator will also work closely with Triathlon Australia to deliver the marketing part for the 2021-2025 strategic plan and will play a key role in driving the growth of triathlon and multisport in NSW. The role also provides support to Triathlon NSW ‘Her Sport Her Way’ across two different programs.

The role requires a dynamic and engaged individual who will enhance TNSW and TACT performance and growth in member engagement and enhanced communications and ensure that our goals in the areas of clubs, membership and participation programs are being achieved.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

Member Engagement:

  • Manage and create unique written and video content for TNSW / TACT digital platforms including website, social media, e-newsletters promoting current member stories and generating new leads for additional membership.
  • Maintaining the TNSW / TACT website and ensuring pages are current and relevant.
  • Coordinating the monthly newsletter in NSW and ACT and distributing.
  • Providing content, language and imagery to Race Directors in line with ‘Race Director Partnerships’ and delivering upon these agreements with relevant deliverables.
  • Ensuring Triathlon NSW and ACT’s Digital Plan remains up to date.
  • Monitor the performance of the communication channels and consider innovative methods to improve and grow the audience.
  • Liaising with sponsors to deliver upon contractual obligations and reporting back to sponsors around social media metrics including ensuring copy and imagery is added to the relevant NSW website, social media and e-newsletters.
  • Creating content relevant to the Forager Interclub Series in NSW inclusive of e-newsletters.
  • Main point of contact with relevant local print and online media channels to assist in the promotion of various Regional Interclub Series Events.
  • Creation of annual reports for TNSW and TACT.
  • Working collaboratively with TA and other STTA’s, supporting national marketing campaigns.

Enhance Communications:

  • Support Triathlon NSW clubs with the marketing, communications and promotion of the ‘Finish Lines, not Finish Times’ events, as funded by the NSW Government and the Office of Sport.
  • Support Triathlon NSW with the marketing, communications and promotion of the ‘Inspire the next generation of female coaches and athletes’.
  • Promotion of Billigence Pathway Championships Series and TNSW / TACT Development Program.
  • Manage the promotion of Commercially sanctioned events in NSW and ACT.
  • Supporting TNSW / TACT Affiliated Clubs with their social media presence and providing content and imagery appropriate to membership recruitment and retention.
  • Develop and support the promotion of the Triathlon NSW Sprint Series and Triathlon NSW Club Championships marketing campaign, including Race Director resources, and strategy across digital platforms aligned to our priority to grow race registrations.
  • Support TNSW program areas to increase the profile and presence of the relevant programs and drive registrations e.g. Indoor Triathlon).
  • Work collaboratively in creating, developing and marketing membership and the associated benefits with a specific view to supporting affiliated clubs with resources. (TA/STTA/clubs/staff)
  • Deliver membership campaigns in line with the annual membership cycle and in partnership with affiliated clubs and key stakeholders (race directors, sponsors, etc).

Event Support:

  • Supporting TACT with their local events including administrative and operational support.
  • Covering Marketing and Communications at TNSW Club Champs annually
