Two members of the Macarthur Triathlon Club were recognised for their achievements and hard work at the recent Wests Sports Council Awards night.
The gala event recognised the extraordinary talent of the Macarthur regions rising young stars alongside elite representatives and a still-active older generation.
The Elite Sports Person of the Year was awarded to the Macarthur Triathlon Club’s Natalie Van Coevorden.
Now based in Spain, over the weekend, Van Coevorden competed in the International Triathlon Union’s Triathlon World Cup in Madrid where she finished fourth.
She is the second Macarthur Triathlon Club member after Erin Densham to be selected for the world championships by Triathlon Australia.
The other award winner from the Macarthur Triathlon Club was Rachel Eagles who was deservedly awarded the Senior Club Person of the Year award.
Special mention must also go to Erin Wooldridge who was Runner Up in the Junior Sportsperson category.
Triathlon NSW would like to congratulate Van Coevorden and Densham on their awards and pay tribute to the excellent environment and network provided by the Macarthur Triathlon Club, which continues to go from strength to strength each year.
