NSW Club Cup to honour Ken Baggs with $$$ prizes up for grabs for NSW clubs.

Elite Energy are launching their ‘NSW Club Cup’ which will be delivered at Sydney International Regatta Centre (SIRC) on 1-2 April in conjunction with the inaugural Redline Games.

To earn points for your club in any Division, you must be a fully financial (Standard or Premium) season 2022/2023 Annual Member. Triathlon NSW will be supporting EE in conducting membership checks to enforce this rule.

This exciting new event will add additional value to the membership you’ve purchased, affording another opportunity to race and earn points for your club.

If you’ve not yet joined Triathlon NSW, this may be the spark and reason to get on to it!

$15,000 worth of Elite Energy $$$’s are being thrown behind the concept, with the top three clubs in each division taking home Elite Energy $$$ that can be used by the club to save on future events.

Performance Points are awarded for the top 10 place getters in each age category (with blocks in place) across all triathlon events held at the SIRC.

The event features Super Sprint, Sprint, Classic and Ultimate Distance events. The Super Sprint also doubles up as the first ever Australian National Championships.

Everyone who toes the start line will earn Participation points for their club as well.

Ken Baggs OAM

Elite Energy will also pay homage to Ken Baggs OAM, with the winning Club/s to take home the inaugural Ken Baggs Cup.

Ken Baggs OAM was instrumental in the creation of IRONMAN in Australia, working in the region for 30 years (1984-2014). He was one of the original members of the organizing committee for the inaugural IRONMAN Australia race in 1985, becoming the race director in 1987.

Ken was also instrumental in the early days of the famous Husky Triathlon, from its humble beginnings in 2006 with 325 athletes to the present day with over 6000 athletes and as many spectators.

The Redline Games will be hosting a range of other events, from Runs, Swims and Bike, to cross-fitness - The Bay Games, Breakdancing, Speedskating, Time Trial, Yoga and Breathwork, plus so much more!
