It has been an eventful month in NSW with the lifting of a number of restrictions that allowed for small group training to recommence and outdoor pools to reopen. While we are not out of the woods just yet, we are cautiously optimistic that our sport will slowly return to normal over the course of the next few months. However, the situation is constantly changing, and we are working diligently to review the situation and provide timely updates as changes occur.
In keeping with this, Triathlon Australia have today released their guidelines for COVID-19 Smart Racing to support event organisers that are planning to resume with their activities. The document should help them to create safer events and support the creation of COVID-safe businesses required by State/Territory Governments. Together with TA, we are undertaking all necessary steps to ensure the health and safety of all members and participants.
In addition, please be aware that as of 9:00am on June 04, 2020 Triathlon Australia has decided to commence sanctioning events and races. Events and races must comply with the local State/Territory, council regulations and TA Guidelines. They will be considered on a case by case basis when uploaded into the OSP (TA Online Sanctioning Portal). The decision was made by the Triathlon Australia Board after taking in consideration the lifting of restrictions in different States and Territories. We welcome this decision and look forward to the commencement of COVID-safe events in NSW when state regulations allow.
