The Triathlon NSW Annual General Meeting was held on Wednesday 30th November 2022 via technology. Glenn Schwarzel (Triathlon NSW President) thanked all the delegates of the clubs who joined the meeting, contributing to this important process.

The President’s Report, Chief Executive Officers Report and Financial Report were presented. Triathlon NSW (TNSW) reported a net deficit for the year ended 30 June 2022 of $15,887. The figures were closely monitored during the year and on target to produce a small surplus from operations. The net deficit resulted from an end of year audit adjustment to accrue provisions for unused annual leave and long service leave. TNSW retain $557,327 in Equity leaving the association in a strong financial position and well placed to face future challenges should they arise.

Thanks were extended to Dean Morrison (Tomaree Triathlon Club) who departs the TNSW Board after two years of dedication and commitment. His understanding of the challenges clubs face and event delivery provided valuable insights throughout his tenure.

Congratulations to Glenn Schwarzel, who was re-elected to the TNSW Board, and we welcome two new board members – Ja Davis (Newcastle Triathlon Club) and Sarah Maguire (Concord Triathlon Club). The election results were confirmed by our Independent Scrutineer – Graham Seers (AusCycling General Manager) and we thank him for the role he played.

Ja and Sarah join the board at a crucial point in time as we recover and respond to the recent challenges faced by all organisations, continue to navigate pivotal discussions around governance reform and work on strategies to continue supporting clubs and members.

The future looks strong for the sport of Triathlon in NSW!
