What Grants are Available for NSW Clubs This Season?

Over the past month, a number of new sports grants have become available that our NSW affiliated clubs are eligible for. We put together a quick summary of these grants so you can choose what your club might want to get involved in!

1. NSW Local Sport Grant Program

The Local Sport Grant Program (LSGP) aims to increase regular and on-going participation opportunities in sport in NSW.

There are four project types within the Program: sport development, sport event, sport access and sport facility. Applicants will be required to identify the type of project for which they are applying as different information is required for each project type. An organisation may apply for more than one project but must register separate projects for different project types.

The minimum requested amount available is $500 for all project types. The maximum amounts range from $2000-15000 depending on the project type.

Applications close Wednesday, 7 October 2020 at 5pm.

2.. Australian Sports Foundation - Active Kids Grant

The Active Kids Grants aim to provide every child with the active childhood they deserve! By helping your club with additional funds to supply them with the equipment they need, it can help increase junior participation to your club.

In light of recent events, the grants will be focusing on volunteer run grassroots and community clubs with young members aged under 20, with priority given to clubs in disadvantaged and/or rural communities.

Applications will be accepted from 1 September to 30 September with suggested grant values up to $10,000 to fund your projects that will acquire sporting equipment, sporting kits and uniforms.

3. NSW Local Sport Defibrillator Grant Program

The Local Sport Defibrillator Grant Program allocates $4 million over four years to assist sporting clubs across NSW in the purchase and maintenance of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs).

An AED is a life saving device which delivers a controlled shock to an individual experiencing cardiac arrest, increasing their chances of survival.

The Local Sport Defibrillator Grant Program provides NSW sports clubs and councils the opportunity to acquire an AED package for their club or sports facility at a reduced cost.

Applications opened on September 3rd and there are two grant assessment dates, November 23rd, 2020 and February 22nd, 2021. Final applications close: 5pm, Monday 12 April 2021 (unless funding allocation is exhausted prior).
