2018 NSW CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS
The NSW Club Championships returns to Orange for the second successive year in 2018 following the success of last year’s event and the continued support of Orange City Council.
The annual Club Championships is one of the most keenly anticipated events of the Triathlon calendar with well over 1000 participants from over 50 clubs in NSW taking part in the day.
With club pride on the line, all the triathlon clubs in NSW will head to the beautiful country surrounds of Gosling Creek Reservoir in Orange on Saturday the 24th of March, 2018 to participate or volunteer in a triathlon consisting of a 1km swim, a 30km bike ride and an 8km run.
This event is unique in that athletes compete for their Club rather than as an individual. It rewards both participation and performance and is the highlight event in many club calendars. Every person who races or volunteers earns a point for the club and every point counts.
The course around Gosling Creek Reservoir is entirely new and has been purpose-built by the Orange Council for the event.
There will again be a Junior Club Championships for ages from 10-11 years and 12-14 years and also participation event for 7-9 year old’s. A point score will operate similar to the all age event with points awarded in each individual year age group, ie, 10yrs, 11yrs, 12yrs, 13yrs, 14yrs.
The distances for juniors are:
- 7 - 9: 50m Swim + 2km Ride + 500m Run
- 10 - 12: 200m Swim + 4km Ride + 1km Run
- 13 - 14: 375m Swim + 6km Ride + 2km Run
Triathlon NSW invites all clubs in NSW and ACT to participate in and support this event.

Triathletes with a Disability:
Triathletes with a disability are very welcome to participate in the Club Champs. At this stage because of the small number, they will participate in their relative Age Group Category. Because of physical constraints, the course is not suitable for those who would compete in a Wheelchair.
The Winning Clubs will be determined by calculating the sum of all the performance points and participation points scored by members of each club.
Venue of Presentation Night:
The venue for the traditional Presentation Night and after party will be at the Orange Ex-Services Club on 231-243 Anson St, Orange.
