QUEENSLAND TEAM

  TRIATHLON PATHWAYS

Triathlon Queensland selects a Triathlon Queensland to support Queensland athlete development and representation at national and international triathlon events. The team is selected for a period of the specified season, in accordance with the Triathlon Queensland Selection Policy.

The Triathlon Queensland U14, U16 and U20 State Team program is designed to facilitate the exposure of young athletes to the triathlon racing environment including racing in the Australian Youth Junior U23 Triathlon Series (AYJU23TS). The program is outlined as such to replicate the requirements of elite racing to prepare them for the demands of the sport at that level, such as competition and travel and to increase the athletes' knowledge in areas such as goal setting, communication with stakeholders and season planning.

Every athlete who completes a triathlon is embarking on the athlete pathway. Triathlon has many avenues and different events within the sport to pursue. It also has numerous entry levels that may occur at different ages and stages through the pathway.

The pathway diagram is a representation of the pathway and should be considered dynamic and flexible and not as a checklist.
