As part of the Regional Junior Development Program (RJDP), Triathlon Queensland and the RJDP clubs and their club-based junior athletes collaborate to deliver development and engagement opportunities for athletes within the RJDP regions. The development activities include competition days and clinics aimed to include training opportunities, education, networking and racing experience for junior athletes and coaches within the region. Upcoming development opportunities will be listed above. |
Become a member of Triathlon Australia and you’ll get free access to Queensland’s Regional Development Program including skills clinics with experienced junior coaches and expert presenters. Triathlon Australia has membership options for juniors from 5 years to 19 years old, from just $36 a season. As a member, you’ll also be able to earn points and represent your club in the Nissan State Series and race at the Queensland Championships. Triathlon Queensland works with a number of Queensland schools that deliver triathlon as part of the curriculum or as extra-curricular activities. These schools provide a fantastic learning and training program, led by Triathlon Australia Accredited coaches. TRIATHLON PATHWAYS | |
Triathlon Queensland selects a Triathlon Queensland to support Queensland athlete development and representation at national and international triathlon events. The team is selected for a period of the specified season, in accordance with the Triathlon Queensland Selection Policy. The Triathlon Queensland U14, U16 and U20 State Team program is designed to facilitate the exposure of young athletes to the triathlon racing environment including racing in the Australian Youth Junior U23 Triathlon Series (AYJU23TS). Every athlete who completes a triathlon is embarking on the athlete pathway. Triathlon has many avenues and different events within the sport to pursue. It also has numerous entry levels that may occur at different ages and stages through the pathway. Athletes and coaches have access to a variety of professional development and funding opportunities. To support Junior and Under 23 athletes to assist them in achieving athletic performance and development outcomes consistent with the overall vision and strategic objectives of both TQ and the athlete, an Individual Athlete Support Grant has been developed.
