We are proud to welcome Codie Grimsey to the Triathlon Queensland team in the Clubs and Communications role. Codie brings tremendous knowledge and experience to the role. This is a career shift for Codie, as he steps away from full-time swim coaching to forge a career in sports administration with a desire to have a positive impact on the triathlon community.
Codie comes from a swimming background where he was an open water champion and a member of the Australian Swim Team for many years. He used his athletic skills to become a successful swim coach at a number of Queensland schools, including Nudgee, The Glennie School and Clayfield College and developed the start-up Grimsey’s Adult Swimfit with his brother, Trent (the English Channel record holder), but Codie tells us, he thinks those who take longer to finish the channel swim are more impressive--braving the conditions for longer—taking a dig at his brother in there somewhere we’re sure.
Codie has a strong reputation in Brisbane for building a friendly, inclusive and encouraging training environment, and has built a rapport with many Queensland clubs and coaches already.
Codie’s recruitment follows a staff restructure with Sally Teiniker moving into the events and programs role. Feel free to contact any of the team so we can help with anything you may need.
