A large contingent of Queenslanders will join over 3,000 mad triathletes at Challenge Roth this weekend.
The annual ultra-distance race covers 3.8km swim in the Rhine-Main-Danube Canal, 180km bike through the south of Roth then a 42km marathon run along the Canal and through the main city. It’s the world’s biggest long-distance triathlon event, attracting over 260,000 spectators!
Perhaps some of the highest profile competitors from Australia are the SBR Triathlon contingent who are racing as part of the Maxing Out Challenge – four unlikely celebrities battling their first long distance triathlon. The Maxing Out Challenge will document Mat Rogers (Dual International Rugby Union & NRL Player), Chloe Maxwell (former Super Model, TV Personality & Author), Ash Bradnam (Media Personality & Nova 106.9 radio host) and Ben Hannant (NRL player & SeaFM radio host) on their epic journey to raise awareness and funds for the 4ASDKids charity which provides early intervention programs for kids impacted by autism.
The team has been supported and coached by Michelle Cooper and David Tabernacle from SBR Triathlon, who are also racing, as well as a number of other SBR athletes.
We wish each & every Queensland a safe and enjoyable race.
