Triathlon Australia is proud to announce an exciting new partnership with Sanitarium Health & Wellbeing which will help more Aussie kids discover the lifelong fun, fitness and friendships offered by the sport of triathlon.
Weet-Bix Kids TRYstars is the new name for Triathlon Australia’s national junior participation program. It aims to encourage 7-12 year-old kids to get involved in the sport of triathlon by focusing on development of FUNdamental movement skills like agility, balance, coordination and speed, which can easily translate into successful participation in any sport.
Working together with Sanitarium Health & Wellbeing, the proud owners of the world’s largest kids triathlon series, the Sanitarium Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon, Triathlon Australia aims to help increase the number of Australian children participating in the 2017 series through attracting more children to its Weet-Bix Kids TRYstars program.
Triathlon Australia CEO, Miles Stewart says he has been a big supporter of the Sanitarium Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon Series throughout his triathlon career and into fatherhood.
“One my greatest triathlon thrills was to see my daughter and son complete their first triathlon at the age of six, and I want more Australian children to experience the fun and excitement through the Sanitarium Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon events,” said Stewart.
“One of our key strategies is to increase participation in the sport. In partnering with Sanitarium and its iconic Weet-Bix brand to deliver our TRYstars program, we hope to deliver even more children to start lines in 2017.”
It is anticipated that the 2017 Sanitarium Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon Series will attract more than 16,500 kids at 10 events across the country. Since its inception, more than 190,000 Aussies kids have participated in the event which simply encourages kids to give it a TRY in a fun and rewarding environment, building the foundations for a lifelong love of physical activity.
