Sid James at the 2013 Australian Event Awards
As one of only four nominated events to make the final, Sid was up against tough competition including the category winner, Santos Tour Down Under 2013.
The Australian Event Awards is the pinnacle awards program for the events industry in Australia recognising only the best in their field. To make the final for such a prestigious award is well deserved recognition for Sid and his team who deliver top quality events in SA for all ages and abilities.
Despite coming away a runner up, Sid remains positive as ever saying
“We had a great night at the Australian Event Awards and an experience it was. We were not in the same budget or exposure division but just making the final I think was enough for our event.
Now it's back to Victor Harbor for 24hrs before heading up to Adelaide for the SportSA awards, again just making the finals is an achievement.”
Sid's portfolio also includes the Franklin Island Triathlon – both events hold qualifying races for the 2014 Age Group World Championships.
The finalists and winners of the 2013 Australian Event Awards were celebrated in style night the Industry Night of Nights, Doltone House, Hyde Park on Tuesday night.
Congratulations to all finalists and winners for the past 12 months of hard work, commitment and dedication to the events industry.
