IRONMAN ASIA-PACIFIC CHAMPIONSHIP MELBOURNE
Melbourne, Victoria
Debuting in 2012, IRONMAN Melbourne has since attracted the world's finest competitors. Athletes begin their day in the town of Frankston, south of Melbourne. The one-loop, 2.4-mile swim course leaves from the south side of the Frankston pier and heads north, before turning south to finish on the opposite side of the pier. The 112-mile, two-lap bike course incorporates the Eastlink Tollway, a world-class expressway closed exclusively for the use of competitors on race day. The iconic point-to-point run course also starts in Frankston, and concludes in St. Kilda, a funky beachside neighborhood with views of the Melbourne skyline. This race offers 75 qualifying slots to the 2015 IRONMAN World Championship in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii.
