Balmoral Triathlon Club (BTC) is again hosting a terrific introduction for youngsters to the wonderful sport that is triathlon with their annual BTC Kids Race on Sunday the 12th of February down at Chowder Bay, Mosman.
For just $40, any child aged 7 – 17 years of age can come along and enjoy a triathlon specifically designed for them. The $40 also includes a goodie bag and a participation medal. For existing BTC members, the entry is free.
“The Club is proud to have started running a kids race in 2012, we always have a great turn out of kids and supportive parents,” BTC President Murray Robertson said.
“Opportunities for youth triathletes are few, especially on the lower North Shore of Sydney,” added BTC Coaching Director Lew Hartley.
“The BTC’s Kids Race creates the opportunity for eligible athletes to compete in a safe environment among their peers regardless which club they are from.”
“We felt that creating the opportunity for young athletes to experience the sport and continue to grow in Triathlon during these formative years is an essential building block to ensure a strong Triathlon community in the future.
“For Balmoral Triathlon Club, it aligns with our vision of being a community club for all ages and abilities.”
The BTC Kids Race will include various lengths for the two different age groups:
- 7-11 years (75m, 3km, 500m)
- 12-17 years (300m, 9km, 2km)
Where: Chowder Bay, Mosman
Swim: Obelisk Bay
Bike: Closed Road (Chowder Bay Road)
Run: Closed Road (Middle Head road & oval)
Start Time: 6:30am (registration open from 5.30-6.15am)
