After three fantastic years of holding the Triathlon NSW Club Championships in Orange, the Triathlon NSW Board, in conjunction with our Race Director partner Elite Energy, are excited to announce that from 2020 the Triathlon NSW Club Championships will be moving to the birthplace of long course triathlon in Australia, Forster.
“I am excited to see the 2020 Triathlon NSW Club Championships return to Forster,” TNSW CEO Adam Wicks said. “The sport of triathlon in the Mid North Coast region is growing each year. Forster has a pleasant climate year round and is a wonderful town to holiday in and bring the entire family”.
Elite Energy CEO, Mark “Emo” Emerton stated “It’s fantastic to be returning to Forster for what we see at Elite Energy as one of the key events on the annual calendar. We are excited to continue the passion and comradery that we have seen in recent years into the future at Forster”.
It is expected that it will once again feature events for Juniors, a Half Club Distance and the Full Club Distance race. No date has been set for the 2020 Club Championships, but we hope to have more information out in April to our club delegates and presidents.
Triathlon NSW and the Board would like to thank the wonderful city of Orange, Orange City Council and particularly the Orange Triathlon Club for their support of this event over the past three years. They have been a fantastic host and we are grateful to the local council for their financial investment into the infrastructure at Gosling Creek Reserve. We hope the improvements there will be a lasting legacy not only for Orange Triathlon Club but also for the other triathlon Clubs throughout the region for many years to come.
