NSW / ACT State Pathway Program (SPP)
Welcome to the 2024/25 State Pathway Program (SPP).
The program is designed for Youth (12-15), Junior (16-19), Under 23 (20-23) and Para athletes to test and develop their skills through, camps, clinics, masterclasses and the Billigence Pathway Series, featuring draft-legal triathlon formats for atheltes to race against their peers from around NSW and the ACT.
Eligibility: Any athlete who is a part of the Triathlon NSW Development Program (including Regional Academy) are automatically eligible to compete in this series. Any other athletes (including interstate athletes) who wish to compete are to express interest via email to Robyn Low-Hart (TriNSW Pathway Lead): development@nsw.triathlon.org.au

NSW / ACT Triathlon State Pathway Program
The objectives of the program remains to create environments which athletes can develop the necessary tactical, technical, physiological and psychological skill competencies to aid progression through to the National Athlete Pathway.
The ‘Rest of State Talent Academy’ (ROSTA) will continue, aligned with the current Regional Academies of Sport Programs (RASi), conducted around NSW. It will offer those juniors who are not geographically located near a RASi program, a pathway and opportunity to be involved. Those who do not have access to a Regional Academy of Sport program are invited to apply for the ROSTA.
For the first time in 2024/2025, the previously named ‘U23 Development Squad’ and Emerging Talent Squads’ will be merged to be become the ‘NSWT / ACTT Triathlon Development Squad’.
This will target Billigence Series Races, Australian Junior Championships, World Triathlon Junior and U23 Events and also offer Training and Race Camp experiences. Athletes in this program will rightly wear the NSW Trisuit or the ACT Trisuit and see a focus on building more advanced tactical and technical skills whilst developing a level of robustness and behavioral attributes that will equip them to better handle the full time training demands post high school.

Western Sydney Academy of Sport
The Academy’s Triathlon Program provides technical training opportunities for talented young athletes in the western Sydney region. In partnership with Triathlon NSW, the program provides the athletes with skills training, education sessions, musculoskeletal screening and functional strength programming, as well as other benefits.
Hunter Academy of Sport
The Hunter Academy of Sport triathlon program forms an integral component of the Triathlon Athlete Development Pathway.
This program is designed to assist the individual athlete’s development so that they progress further in the sport with a strong focus on providing greater skill development, strength and conditioning support and physical preparation.

Central Coast Academy of Sport
The Central Coast Academy of Sport Triathlon Program exists to provide a unique opportunity for local triathletes to gain further individual skill and personal development that will assist them in gaining higher representative selection in the sport of triathlon.

South West Sydney Academy of Sport
The South West Sydney Academy of Sport (SWSAS) conducts a Triathlon program in association with Triathlon NSW and Triathlon ACT.
The Academy facilitates high-performance programs for talent identified athletes from the South West Sydney local government areas of Campbelltown, Camden, Liverpool, and Wollondilly across a number of sports.
The focus of the Triathlon program is on developing and maintaining high standards of individual performance and excellence based on a solid platform of skill development. This program is a link into the Triathlon NSW Development Pathway, linking club athletes to State and National programs.
South West Sydney Academy of Sport Triathlon Program.
Illawarra Academy of Sport
The IAS Triathlon Program is designed to support the developmental needs of the region’s young talented triathletes by providing industry leading high performance sport development programs.
IAS Triathlon sessions are held weekly/fortnightly at the IAS primary training venues including Wollongong Harbour and the Fairy Meadow Surf Club, however some training sessions may still be held at other Bowling Clubs throughout the Illawarra Region including Wollongong, Shellharbour, Kiama, Shoalhaven and the Wingecarribee.
IAS Scholarship holders will be exposed to high level competition through their participation in the annual Clubs NSW Academy Games, as well as through the various club, zone and state races which athletes are required to participate.
IAS Scholarship holders are expected to attend ALL scheduled IAS Triathlon sessions in addition to club, representative and other sport commitments.

Northern Inland Academy of Sport
The Academy covers the whole of the North West of NSW from Tenterfield in the North, Ebor to the East, Coonabarabran in the West and Quirindi to the South. NIAS aims to provide opportunities, pathways and access to skill development that will develop individual potential, and support talented sportspeople in making the transition to higher levels of competition and performance.
Western Regions Academy of Sport
The Western Region Academy of Sport (WRAS) covers a geographical region including Bathurst, Bland, Blayney, Cabonne, Cowra, Dubbo, Forbes, Gilgandra, Hilltops, Lachlan, Lithgow, Mid West Regional, Narromine, Oberon, Orange, Parkes and Weddin.
The WRAS Triathlon program is endorsed by Triathlon NSW, the program provides development opportunities for athletes in areas of technical skill, education, strength & conditioning and personal development preparing athletes for the next level of elite sport representation.
Rest of State Talent Academy (ROSTA)
The ROSTA is the newly formed program designed to service those who do not have access to a Regional Academy of Sport (“RASi”) due to their geographic location. Those who do not have access to a Regional Academy of Sport program are invited to apply for the ROSTA.

Athlete Eligibility:
- Athletes must be 13 – 18 years old (those born from 2006 – 2012)
- Not reside within a Regional Academy of Sport catchment
- Registered with a Local Club/Association or directly with Triathlon Australia
- Athletes considered for selection in the program should possess physical and behavioural attributes that are considered essential to progress to a standard to be selected as members of the NATDS in the following 2-3 years.
- Demonstrate a Dedication to Improving Performance
- Be able to Commit to 80% of planned sessions
Athlete Benefits:

Billigence Pathway Series Races

This series is designed for Youth (12-15), Junior (16-19), Under 23 (20-23) and PARA athletes to test and develop their skills across a range of draft-legal triathlon formats, against athletes from all over NSW and the ACT.
