2. Read the Australian Age Group Team Selection Policy – Read the Australian Age Group Team Selection Policy which relates to the team and destination which you would like to seek selection for. The selection policies detail the process and criteria by which AusTriathlon will select its Australian Age Group Triathlon, Multisport and Long Distance Duathlon Teams. The selection policies outline how many athletes AusTriathlon may select, how many selection races athlete’s need to compete in, how the selection points system works, how to express interest for the Australian Age Group Teams and more.
3. Ensure you are a Standard and or Premium AusTriathlon member – For selection points in a selection event to accumulate towards selection an athlete must hold a current Relevant AusTriathlon Membership as of midnight on the Thursday preceding the date of the relevant selection event. # Relevant AusTriathlon Membership means a current annual AusTriathlon Membership in the full Standard and or Premium categories but excludes all Social and or Basic membership categories.
4. Select and enter your identified national selection events – Several national selection events have been identified by AusTriathlon for each individual Australian Age Group Team. Pick which national selection events you would like to compete in from the list of events available for your Australian Age Group Team. Enter the national selection events through the private race organiser identified. Selection points will not be awarded to current Relevant AusTriathlon members if the AusTriathlon member does not enter their current Relevant AusTriathlon membership number, correct date of birth and their full correctly spelled first and last names which match their current Relevant AusTriathlon membership details at the time of entering each individual nominated selection event.
5. Race in your identified national selection events – No need to let AusTriathlon know which national selection events you will be competing in. AusTriathlon will receive each national selection event official race results and allocate the selection points to eligible age group athletes behind the scenes.
6. Express your interest in being selected to the Australian Age Group Team – Athletes who would like to seek selection to each individual Australian Age Group Team must notify AusTriathlon of their Expression of Interest for selection by applying on-line on the AusTriathlon website. Please note each Australian Age Group Team has a different close date for Expression of Interest Applications and these dates are noted in each Australian Age Group Team Selection Policy. To complete your Expression of Interest for selection to the Australian Age Group Team you must hold a current Relevant AusTriathlon Membership. # Relevant AusTriathlon Membership means a current annual AusTriathlon Membership in the full Standard and or Premium categories but excludes all Social and or Basic membership categories.
