Returning for it’s 16th year, the Aquathlon and Triathlon provide both an entry level opportunity and school region selection level event for kids aged 7-18.

Registration Information
Regional School Sport Qualification

Select the school you’ll be enrolled in for 2025 to ensure your school is accurately recorded for Regional School Sport selection, as well as the Aquathlon Champion School and Triathlon Champion School points tally.

As this event is a qualification event for Regional School Sport, no entries will be taken for categories after the cut-off after 8th October, 2024.

For more information on regional team selection for Queensland School Sport Triathlon Championships, please contact your Regional School Sport office for clarification on their team selection policies.

AusTriathlon Membership

Annual Members – If you hold a valid Standard or Premium AusTriathlon membership for the 2024-25 season, please ensure that you enter using your membership profile and select the relevant member ticket.

One Day Licence (ODL) –  Athletes who are not Standard or Premium AusTriathlon members will need to purchase the Non-member ticket at an additional cost which includes the One Day Licence Fee and provides athlete insurance coverage for the race.

2024 Aquathlon 11-19 Years Multiclass Classifications Event Categories

Process for Provisional Classification

The process for classification to compete in School Sport Para triathlon – classes – PTVI (1,2,3), PTWC (1,2) and PTS2,3,4,5. 

If an athlete/parent has read over this World Triathlon document on eligible classes for para triathlon and believe that they meet, or may meet the minimum eligibility criteria for a class in para triathlon, complete the following steps: 

For athletes with physical impairments (PTWC1,2 and PTS2,3,4,5) 

1. Fill out an inquiry form for AUS Triathlon para triathlon: AusTriathlon Para Inquiry Form

2. Send this to:  megan.hall@triathlon.org.au or contact Megan Hall (Para Hub and Talent coach) 0414 500 334. 

3. This will be sent on to our head classifier for assessment, who will then be in contact with instructions for the next steps for completing the provisional classification to enable the athlete to compete. 

For athletes with a visual impairment (PTVI,2,3) 

1. Fill out an inquiry form for Aus Triathlon para triathlon: AusTriathlon inquiry form 

2. Send this to:  megan.hall@triathlon.org.au or contact Megan Hall (Para Hub and Talent coach) 0414 500 334. 

3. Complete the VI Request for Classification Form and Paralympics Australia will be in contact to arrange classification.

Champion School

The Champion School will be awarded based on a combination of performance and participation points ranking school against school for the title (and trophy).

Both an Aquathlon Champion School and Triathlon Champion School will be awarded.

Points will be allocated in each category and the trophy will be presented following the Aquathlon and Triathlon events.

Rankings will be awarded points as follows:

1st = 15 pts
2nd = 14 pts
3rd = 13 pts
4th = 12 pts
5th = 11 pts
6th = 10 pts
7th = 9 pts
8th = 8 pts
9th = 7 pts
10th = 6 pts
11th = 5 pts
12th = 4 pts
13th = 3 pts
14th = 2 pts
15th = 1 pts

Each athlete will earn 1 participation point for their school.
