Race for your club in the ultimate club competition in the North. Earn points for your club towards the North Queensland Club Champions title.
The Airlie Beach Triathlon will host the 2026 North Queensland Club Championships on the 25-26 July 2026.
Eligibility
Athlete
The only event where points can be earned for the 2026 North Queensland Club Championships is the Airlie Beach Triathlon, to be held on 25-26 July 2026.
Only financial Basic, Standard or Premium Club Members of AusTriathlon for the 2026/27 season are eligible to earn points for their club.
Participants need to nominate their club on their registration form for the Airlie Beach Triathlon. The nominated club will be the ONLY club the individual can earn points for in the 2026 North Queensland Club Championships. Participants are responsible for ensuring their race entry reflects the club they wish to earn points for, and any changes need to be made with the race director by midday, Monday 20 July 2026.

*Clubs must pay their 2026/27 affiliation fee to AusTriathlon by 1st July 2026 and have a minimum of 15 members.to be eligible for the 2026 North Queensland Club Championships. A final check will be completed prior to the 2026 North Queensland Club Championships to ensure clubs are eligible.
**Clubs competing in the 2026 North Queensland Club Championships are those located in areas on or north of the Tropic of Capricorn, including Barcaldine, Emerald, Comet and Blackwater.
Point Allocations
Participation
Points will be allocated as follows:
- One (1) participation point will be allocated to each eligible participant’s nominated club, for competing in any of the following races: Standard distance, Sprint distance, Enticer distance, McDonalds Junior Triathlon.
- One (1) participation point will be allocated to each eligible team’s nominated club, for participating in any Team (Standard).
- One (1) participation point will be allocated to each Technical Official’s nominated club, for officiating at the Airlie Beach Triathlon for each day they officiate.
Competition
Points will be allocated as follows:
- Allocated to eligible competitors (AusTriathlon club members), based on the number of competitors racing in their Age Group category and their finishing position among eligible competitors in their Age Group category.
- 15 or more competitors in Open/Age Group category
1st =15 points
2nd =14 points
14th = 2 points
15th =1 points - 14 or less competitors in Open/Age Group category
1st = 10 points
2nd = 9 points
9th = 2 point
10th = 1 point - 7 or less competitors in Open/Age Group category
1st = 5 points
2nd = 4 points
4th = 2 points
5th = 1 points - To earn competition points athletes must race in the distances and category for their Age Group, outlined in the Points Matrix below.
*An individual can earn points for competing in one wave only per day and this would be the first entered wave of the day and not any other waves subsequently entered
**Professional athletes racing in the Open wave at Airlie Beach Triathlon events will also be allocated points for their club.
- Age Group categories and points will be based on the confirmed AusTriathlon club members taking part in the race as of midday Monday 20th July 2026. i.e. If you wish to earn points you must be entered in the race before this date.
- Age Group category point allocation will not be affected by athletes who do not race, are disqualified, or do not complete the course.
- Any competitor disqualified from any race will collect no points.
- Points will only be allocated once all race day information has been verified and results are posted. Athletes will have 20 minutes after the posted time of provisional results to notify a AusTriathlon staff member of changes to the results otherwise the results will stand.
- Athletes are only eligible to earn points in one (1) event. If an athlete competes in multiple events the highest points earned will be allocated to their club.

This is awarded to three clubs with the 1st, 2nd and 3rd highest aggregate scores,
2026 North Queensland Club Championships presentations will take place at the Airlie Beach Triathlon presentations on Sunday, 26th July 2026.
