With the 2025/26 season officially coming to a close we celebrated the amazing performances of athletes and contributions from our triathlon community across the state at the Victorian State Awards.
The morning opened with season highlights from Victorian Championship Series and Regional Series, before VIC Triathlon President Damian Walsh and AusTriathlon President Paul Stevens welcomed attendees.
The morning kicked off by acknowledging the people behind the sport, with Hugh Allen taking out Technical Official of the Year, while Sean Foster winning Coach of the Year. These honours acknowledged their strong dedication and leadership. A standout moment came with guest speaker Luke Bell in a live Q&A who shared insights from his personal journey.
The Victorian State and Regional Series awards highlighted consistency and participation across the season, including Age Group Champions and leading clubs.
Youth, Junior, Para and Multiclass categories showcased the depth and diversity of talent in the sport, including Sophie Hall taking home Female Youth Athlete of the Year, Jasmine Hume winning Female Junior Athlete of the Year and rising star Adam Conway winning Youth/Junior Most Improved Award. We recognised Victoria’s top performers on the national and international stage including Oscar Wooton as Elite Male Athlete of the Year.
To reflect deep resilience and spirit on our sport, Mathew Kent was crowned the Most Inspiring Performance Award, while Angela Sandral was acknowledged for the President’s Special Recognition Award. Finally, Michael Pratt was recognised taking home the Legend of Multisport Award.
With a look ahead to the 2026 Victorian Duathlon Series and upcoming State and Regional Series, the event reinforced what makes triathlon special: a passionate, supportive community united by a love of the sport.
