Today marks a special day in the calendar, International Olympic and Paralympic Day.
Since triathlon’s introduction into the Olympic and Paralympics, Team Australia has medalled at every Games whether it was the Olympics or Paralympics, including winning 3 golds, 3 silvers and 2 bronze. Since it’s introduction in the year 2000 for the Olympics and 2016 for the Paralympics, we’ve had 67 athletes compete across both the Olympic and Paralympic programs showcasing the depth, talent and love for triathlon across our country.
Michellie Jones kicked off our Australian campaign in style, back in 2000 winning silver on home soil in Sydney, while our most recent gold medallist Lauren Parker pulled together a fantastic performance at the Paris Paralympic Games in 2024.
Days like today are a great opportunity to reflect on the journey of our athletes and highlight the incredible sacrifices and stories that led to each milestone.
Which names will we see represent the green and gold in LA2028?
