NSW Triathlon is delighted to announce a major new partnership with Explore Worldwide, connecting two communities united by a passion for adventure, active living and discovering what is possible.
As the new Official Adventure Travel Partner of NSW Triathlon, Explore Worldwide will feature prominently across triathlon and running events throughout NSW during the 2026/27 season, with Elite Energy serving as our event delivery partner.
A centrepiece of the partnership will be naming rights to two of the state’s most recognised triathlon events, which will become the Explore Worldwide Nepean Triathlon and the Explore Worldwide NSW Triathlon Club Championships.
Explore Worldwide will also receive naming rights to the Explore Worldwide NSW Triathlon Interclub League, including the North Coast, South Coast and Hunter regional leagues, further connecting the brand with NSW Triathlon clubs and their members across the state.
The partnership extends across a broad calendar of triathlon and running events, including naming rights to Explore Worldwide Run Forster, Explore Worldwide Red Line Games and Explore Worldwide Western Sydney Lakes. The brand will also be recognised as the Official Adventure Travel Partner at major event weekends including the Husky Running Festival and Husky Triathlon, Port Stephens Triathlon and Run Port Stephens, Callala Triathlon, Big Husky, Wollongong Triathlon and Grand Pacific Marathon, and Hawks Nest Triathlon.
Explore Worldwide specialises in active and small-group adventure travel, making it a natural fit for a triathlon community that loves a challenge, embraces new experiences and is always looking towards its next adventure. They specialise in small group tours to over 100 different countries, from eye-opening cultural tours, to scenic hiking and cycling trips, all their adventures are designed to get you into the heart of a destination however you prefer to explore.
From the first stroke to the final stride, triathlon is about more than reaching the finish line. It is about the places we visit, the challenges we embrace and the experiences we share along the way. Those same qualities sit at the heart of Explore Worldwide’s approach to travel.
NSW Triathlon CEO Adam Wicks said the partnership represented a strong alignment between two adventurous and highly engaged communities.
“Triathletes are naturally curious and adventurous people. They enjoy setting themselves a challenge, exploring new places and sharing memorable experiences with others, whether that is at an event in regional NSW or travelling somewhere completely new.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Explore Worldwide as our Official Adventure Travel Partner. Having Explore Worldwide take naming rights to the NSW Triathlon Club Championships and our Interclub League will make them a highly visible part of our sport.
“Together with Elite Energy, we look forward to bringing the partnership to life and creating new experiences and opportunities for triathletes, runners, clubs and active communities across NSW.”
Explore Worldwide Regional Director, Australia & New Zealand, Ben Ittensohn, said:
“At Explore Worldwide, we believe travel is at its best when it combines adventure, wellbeing and meaningful experiences. That’s why we’re so excited to become the Official Adventure Travel Partner of NSW Triathlon.
“We continue to see incredible growth in demand for walking and cycling holidays as more Australians look for active ways to experience the world, and we see strong alignment between the triathlon community’s love of challenge and our passion for immersive adventure travel.”
The partnership will be brought to life at events through prominent branding, event activations and direct engagement with participants.
This includes Explore Worldwide branding on finish arches, flags, fence wraps, event websites, registration platforms and event communications, along with commentator acknowledgements and selected merchandise opportunities.
A new branded Recovery to Discovery activation zone will feature within recovery areas at selected events, while the Choose Your Adventure Explore Passport will encourage participants to discover travel experiences through interactive event signage and digital content. Explore Worldwide will also have opportunities to engage directly with athletes through exhibitor spaces at key event weekends.
The partnership will also recognise the Explore Foundation as the exclusive charity partner of the named events, including integration into online event registrations where possible. The Foundation will receive additional charity partner recognition across the broader event calendar.
As the delivery partner, Elite Energy will use its extensive event experience to support branding and activation across the partnership.
Elite Energy CEO Mark Emerton said the partnership would add further value and excitement to the event experience.
“Adventure is at the heart of every triathlon. Athletes travel to new destinations, challenge themselves and create lasting memories with their families, friends and clubmates.
“We’re excited to work alongside NSW Triathlon and Explore Worldwide to bring this partnership to life across our events. From the Explore Worldwide Nepean Triathlon through to the NSW Triathlon Club Championships and our wider event calendar, the partnership will provide participants with a genuine connection between their active lifestyle and their next great adventure.”
Beyond the event calendar, the partnership will explore opportunities to create travel experiences linked to international triathlon and running events, as well as travel opportunities for Australian athletes competing at World Triathlon Championships overseas.
Together, Explore Worldwide, NSW Triathlon and Elite Energy will celebrate the spirit of adventure and encourage athletes across NSW to keep moving, keep exploring and keep looking for their next challenge.
Because the finish line might just be the start of your next adventure!
