New Victorian junior events hit the 2026 calendar

22 Sep 2026

There’s plenty of fun ways to prepare kids for the triathlon season ahead, including Aus3.

Our Aus3 program is a fun online program designed to get kids moving, whether that’s swimming lessons, a bike ride with the family, a run with friends, or any other active adventure.

All they have to do is simply create their own avatar, log their activity minutes, and start unlocking rewards. The more they move, the more accessories and power-ups they earn. Every swim, ride, and run helps their avatar travel across Australia, discover new places and learn new skills along the way.

So here are a couple of new events entering the fold.

Greater Geelong Junior Triathlon

The Greater Geelong Junior Triathlon on 24 October 2026 is set to be a day of fierce competition, fast racing and plenty of action. This fantastic initiative by JK Training is the perfect way to bring the next generation of triathletes together and spark some intense racing as they battle it out for prime position.

Hosted at the Eastern Beach in Geelong, this race will act as a key Victorian selection event for the 2027 National Championships and will provide the junior triathletes with an opportunity to test themselves on a similarly designed course reflective of a national championship experience.

But you don’t have to by vying for national selection to compete. With races suitable for kids aged 12-17 there’s an option for anyone willing to give triathlon a go. Combine your love for swimming, running and biking.

Junior Aquathlon Series

Organised by Momentum Triathlon Academy the Junior Aquathlon Series is a fantastic introduction into multisport. Designed for participants aged 12-24 the Series acts as a perfect taster into the sport, creating a safe, welcoming environment for people of all ages and stages in their journey.

Run over three dates; Thursday 5 November, Sunday 15 November and Sunday 29 November at Sandridge Life Saving Club, Port Melbourne the event focuses on developing confidence in the water and developing transition awareness and skills.

The events aren’t timed, ensuring that everyone is able to go at their own pace, practice their skills and build towards their next event. This is the second year that Momentum has organised this event and was previously awarded the “Initiative of the Year” Award at the Vic Triathlon Awards.

Other junior events:

There’s no shortage of opportunities for young people to get involved, with Wild Dog (Warragul) hosting kid-friendly races, alongside events from Echuca Moama, Western Suburbs Triathlon Club and Border Triathlon’s Women and Kids Event, just to mention a few. Many other Victorian clubs and squads also provide opportunities for our junior participants, allowing them to test their skills, have fun with their friends and keep active over the season.

If you’re looking for a fun way to help your child build confidence, stay active and discover the excitement of multisport, Aus3 is the perfect place to start. From there, you’ll find plenty of events and opportunities to continue the journey close to home.

We can’t wait to see you at the Start Line.
