Earn Selection Points to Qualify
Please remember…
1. All eligible AusTriathlon members receive selection points, regardless if they would like to seek selection to an Australian Age Group Triathlon or Multisport Team.
2. For selection points in an event to accumulate towards selection an athlete must hold a current Relevant AusTriathlon Membership as of midnight on the Thursday preceding the date of the relevant selection event. # Relevant AusTriathlon Membership means a current annual AusTriathlon membership in the full Standard and or Premium categories but excludes all Social and or Basic membership categories.
3. 2025 World Triathlon Age Group Triathlon and or Multisport World Championships age group athletes will be placed in the selection points table as your age on the 31 December 2025. This age group category may be different than the category you raced in on race day. When looking for your selection points after your relevant selection race, please look at the age group category as your age as of the 31st of December 2025.
Age group athletes may not receive the number of selection points which corresponds with your place in your age group category on race day. Please see the Australian Age Group Team FAQ page for a detailed example.
4. If you are a relevant AusTriathlon member and you enter the selection event with a nick name and or incorrect personal details e.g., date of birth and or incorrect AusTriathlon membership number e.g. TA12345 you will not receive retrospective selection points. Due to the number of age group athletes seeking selection in 2025 selection points will not be awarded retrospectively.
5. If you are not noted in the selection points, please check the official race day results. If you have not been noted on the official race day results you must contact the race organiser and or timing company to have this rectified.
6. If you do not race in your age group category (Open, Elite, Paratriathlon, Mates) on race day, hold a professional license, professional development license and or race on a one-day license at the selection race you will not receive selection points.

Due to Tropical Cyclone Alfred the Kingscliff, NSW Standard Distance Triathlon which was to be held on the 23rd of March 2025 will now be postponed until May 2025. This standard distance triathlon race is now outside the 2025 Australian Age Group Triathlon Team selection period and will unfortunatley be unable to continue as a 2025 Australian Age Group Standard Distance Triathlon Team National Selection Event. |

2025 Australian Age Group Standard Distance Triathlon Team Overall National Selection Points (Races One to Eleven Included) – Will be published by 5pm AEST on Friday 2nd of May 2025. AusTriathlon will try and publish Races One to Eleven on Monday the 28th of April 2025 however this will depend on how quickly we receive the final race results from the last selection race which will be held on Sunday the 27th of April 2024. Friday 2nd of May 2025 will be the latest which this document will be published on the AusTriathlon website.

2025 Australian Age Group Standard Distance Aquabike Team Overall National Selection Points (Races One to Nine Included) – Will be published by 5pm AEST on Friday the 11th of April 2025.
2026 Age Group Multisport Team (Abu Dhabi) and Triathlon Team (Pontevedra)
Due to the predicted lower number of athletes seeking selection to the 2026 Australian Age Group Multisport Team (Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates) and the 2026 Australian Age Group Triathlon Team (Pontevedra, Spain) AusTriathlon will not be publishing selection points for each 2026 Australian Age Group Multisport/ Triathlon Team individual selection event. We have found publishing selection points in the past may not show the true selection picture for eligible athletes throughout the season for a particular campaign. An athlete may be sitting on the overall selection points table at 40th position however this athlete is really sitting in 15th as 25 athletes in front of this athlete may not want to be selected for the Australian Age Group Multisport/ Triathlon Team.
AusTriathlon will monitor 2026 Australian Age Group Multisport/ Triathlon Team Applications and will publish any age group category which shows to have more than 20 applicants in any individual event throughout the multisport/ triathlon selection period.
