2026 QLD Award winners announced

The Queensland triathlon community came together to celebrate an outstanding 2025/26 season at the QLD Awards, recognising the athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers and clubs who have made a significant impact on the sport.

Leading the athlete honours were Matt Hauser and Richelle Hill, named Professional Athletes of the Year, while Queensland’s next generation was recognised with Zahn Spies and Addison Houslip taking out the Junior Athlete of the Year awards. Jack Howell and Grace Brimelow were celebrated as Paratriathletes of the Year.

Beyond competition, the awards recognised those who continue to strengthen the triathlon community. Leanne McGregor was named Volunteer of the Year, Dan Atkins received Elite Coach of the Year, and Carina Leagues Triathlon Club was recognised with Club Initiative of the Year. TriPink was also honoured as Event of the Year for its outstanding contribution to the sport.

The evening concluded with Philip Hungerford receiving the prestigious President’s Award, recognising his exceptional contribution to triathlon in Queensland.
