Entries are now on sale for the NSW Triathlon Club Championships, scheduled to be held on Worimi country, Forster, NSW on Saturday 25th May and delivered by our awesome Race Director Partner, H Events.
The event remains the only triathlon in Australia where you must hold a Standard (Or Premium) annual AusTriathlon, NSW Triathlon and local club membership to secure your place on the start line.
Last year, the community was split and divided on when the best time of year for the event to occur. 56% of respondents advised they want the event in May, with 44% preferring an earlier time of year with the cold weather being the main reason for the desire to shift date.
We’ve decided to keep the event in May 2024; however, the Full Club Distance will now start at Forster main beach with first athletes in the water at 9 am. This later start will allow the weather to warm up and the temperature to rise, but also means those who choose to limit their accommodation expenses could potentially drive to Forster in the morning of the race. Our hope is that this will satisfy as many NSW members as possible.
In 2024, we are proud to advise that 5x Triathlon World Champion Craig ‘Crowie’ Alexander will be the event ambassador. Through April and May, Crowie will run two online sessions which will be available for all who have entered providing greater value into your entry. The topics are TBC, but will be shaped by online polls leading in so they are specific to what the community want to hear!
This year, athletes who enter the Full Club Distance will have the choice of either an official Club Champs T-Shirt, or for those athletes who have too much apparel already or prefer to reduce their carbon footprint, can make the decision to donate the equivalent amount to Crowie’s official charity partners of choice.
All funds raised will be split evenly between two charities, both of which are very important to Craig personally – The Starlight Foundation and TRIMOB Foundation.
Forster remains the ideal location for the end of season party and race. The time of year in May allows for clubs to promote the ‘end of season’ party and means our wonderful long course athletes could also consider attending.
Offering a Full Club (and Teams Option), Half Club (Teams Options) and distances for kids, this event continues to offer something for everyone.
