Find your Unstoppable: A decade of passion and progress with the Alice Springs Triathlon Club

23 Jan 2025

Megan Scott has been an active member of the Alice Springs Triathlon Club (ASTC) for a decade, and her passion for the club and the sport of triathlon is evident. Reflecting on her experiences, Megan highlights the inclusivity and variety offered by the club. Whether it’s beginner-friendly ‘Come n’ Tri’ events, all-abilities races, or the challenging IRONMAN distance, the ASTC caters to athletes of all levels.

One standout moment for Megan was witnessing a former member—who started their triathlon journey with the club just four years prior—compete as a Paralympian in Paris. “That was a huge highlight for me,” she shares. Additionally, Megan celebrates the achievements of friends and colleagues who recently completed their first triathlon at the Masters Games. Many of them are now gearing up for upcoming events scheduled for March and April, demonstrating the enduring impact of the club’s supportive environment.

Megan’s personal goals for the year include being more consistent with her training—a commitment she attributes to her coach, Chloe Lane—and participating in events she enjoys alongside friends. Her ultimate aim is to build towards completing a 70.3 triathlon by the end of the year.

What makes ASTC special, Megan explains, are the excellent facilities, including the aquatic centre, the supportive community of members, and the stunning local scenery that provides an inspiring backdrop for training. Above all, she emphasises her belief that triathlon is truly a sport for every body, reinforcing the club’s ethos of inclusivity and encouragement.
