Finish Lines Not Finish Times: More Clubs, More Momentum

8 Aug 2025

The NSW Finish Lines Not Finish Times program is back and it’s set to be even bigger than last season. With 23 NSW triathlon clubs joining the movement this season, we’re thrilled to be able to welcome even more female participants into, or back to, the sport we all love.

Funded by the NSW Office of Sport, this initiative is about redefining what triathlon looks like for women of all backgrounds. Whether it’s a borrowed bike from the back of the garage or a bold leap into open water for the first time, the program creates inclusive spaces where women can build confidence, community, and a lifelong love of triathlon.

Last season, 17 clubs ran Finish Lines Not Finish Times programs, including 11 in regional areas. This year, with 23 clubs participating across the state, the impact is set to grow even further, reaching more communities, more women, and more future triathletes.

Sinead, a participant from Illawarra Triathlon Club, shared:

“The more women in sport, the more it becomes the norm—not just for themselves but for younger generations too.”

You can read about Sinead’s experience from last season and how the program helped her reconnect with the sport and form a community of like-minded females, who have continued their triathlon journey together.

From first-time racers to future Ironman hopefuls, these women are proving that triathlon isn’t about finish times, but it’s about showing up, supporting each other, and crossing the line together.
