NSW Triathlon Pathway Program 2024/2025 Season Wrap Up
The NSW Triathlon Pathway Program provides a development framework for young and emerging triathletes in New South Wales and the ACT. Through training camps, the competitive Billigence Pathway Series, and skill-building opportunities, athletes progress towards national and international competitions, enhancing their performance at every level.
Season Highlights
NSW Pathway athletes embraced the challenge this season, for some it was undertaking their first draft-legal race, and for others, stepping up to National and Oceania events, including the sweltering Runaway Bay Super Sprint Championship, held at the Gold Coast Performance Centre, Australian Championships in Elwood, and the Oceania Sprint Championships in Devonport – one of the rights-of-passage races; delivering outstanding performances and representing NSW, their home clubs, and squads with dedication.
Standout Performances
Jack Caldwell, a member of the NSW Development Squad had a remarkable season, dominating all key events and securing his place at the Junior World Championships. With the race taking place on home soil, Team NSW will be in full force to cheer him on.
Matthew Engesser, claimed 1st place at the World Triathlon Oceania Championships in Mooloolaba and secured 2nd place at the World Triathlon Para Series (WTPS) in Devonport. Making his international debut in Yokohama, Matthew finished 6th against the world’s top-ranked athletes — the youngest competitor by 11 years.
Logan Campbell deserves a special mention for his exceptional performances at both Oceania and Asian Continental Cup racing, demonstrating his potential on the global stage.
Sporting Schools NSW team, consisting of many Youth and Junior NSW Pathway athletes, proved an opportunity to shine nationally with a silver medal performance and many other standout performances across categories.
Looking Ahead

The combination of skill development, mentorship, and high performance competition ensures that NSW athletes continue to shine in the world of triathlon.
