As we continue our Road to Wollongong, we thought we’d take a little road trip slightly South and share another South Coast triathlon community. Situated between the rolling waves and rugged escarpments of the NSW South Coast, is Kiama Triathlon Club (also known as KTC).
Kiama Triathlon Club champions health, wellbeing, and inclusivity while punching well above its weight in competitive triathlon; with five NSW State Divisional Championships in the past seven seasons, and an incredible 23 members from the club being selected to represent Australia at the upcoming Wollongong World Championships in October, the club’s results speak volumes.
“We believe this is a significant achievement for our little club as we have an incredible 23 members selected to represent across various age groups. It speaks volumes about the talent, commitment and hard work within KTC and a true testament to the calibre of athletes we have in our ranks.” Mary Street, Kiama Triathlon Club President
But it’s the heart, inclusivity and community spirit that sets Kiama apart.
From mentoring newcomers to guiding sight-impaired athletes and supporting the development of next-gen triathlon Pathways talent, KTC is built on the belief that triathlon belongs to everyone.
If you’re not already a club or NSW member, but happen to live locally – whether you’re a seasoned pro or testing the triathlon waters – KTC is a club that we know you’ll love being a part of:
- A mentoring program to guide beginners through gear, training, and race day
- River swim sessions in Minnamurra, with tidal charts for optimal training
- Buy/sell/swap hub for gear recycling
- Tips, tricks, and race plans shared by members to help others thrive
- A commitment to inclusion, with plans for a local Achilles Chapter – which showcases a dedication to transform the lives of people living with disability through athletic programs and social connections.
